 EMOTIONS IN E-MOTIONAL TRANSFORMATION

Fourty four summers rewound before my eyes and in upbeat
The rainy October bringing cheers to yours truly and in eager
Ruffle of the white coat, the pounding of my own heart beat,
Reverberated  in the ears of a medicos designated  teenager.

First morning was in thrills ,ecstatic and  flirting in all white
The blooming forenoon turned gloomy under afternoon sky,
Forget the monsoon, preparing for a visit to cadaveric  suite,
But this was too a terrifying experience for a beginner in shy,

Till then I had seen many a death in my relations and around.
Twenty naked bodies,in motionless stare, still, sans emotion,
Drenched in formalin ,inviting the novice medicos to dissect,
Great service!to let many learn the human anatomy in detail.

Eighteen months of hard earned knowhow of a human stuff,
Hardened my  emotions and gave me a message with a blow
All humans are the same once your entire skin is peeled off.
All are in red and blue, beneath its pigmented show and glow.

Rest of the four summers mesmerized me, etched in memory,
The agony of the pithed amphibian, sketching on smoky drum,
The hexoses and pentoses, the viruses and bacterial territory,
The aspirins and the aromatic mixtures and their conundrum.

Real sight  of  sedimentation of red cells and white buffy coat,
The sight of eosin and haematoxylin stains and the basophils
The sight of living retina, ear drum and the audible fork in short,
Fascinating rhythm of synchronized heart beats and its thrills.

The skill of palpation of abnormal swellings and broken bones,
The knowhows of trimesters, motherhood and assisted labour,
The incessant cries of neonates and toddlers  unresting tones,
Skill on fire to pass all the litmus tests to be a complete doctor.

Times have changed ,the ordeals are same yet electronic savvy,
Emotions also have changed ,more e-motions than the real fair,
Learning more from the internet than from the patient’s agony
What is in store in future,my thoughts go weird and in  despair
