A SIGHT OF SEQUOIA…. WEAVING A MAGICAL SPELL
Mother nature at times wears a bewildering face,
Fire, though destructive, grants life in its
place,
One’s silent grave, becomes another’s summer
Sierra Nevada, a place of visit
for the connoisseur.
General
Sherman, Giant tree all in the picture,
Redwood
trees, renowned for the height and age,
Symbolize in adversity for resilience and
courage.
Giant Sequoias, all colossal in trunk and in
its girth
Live many thousand of years, rise steeply in growth,
, Three
hundred feet tall, in majestic view, so mammoth.
Standing lofty, miles and miles above sea and
earth.
Fires destroy the wild life, yet Sequoias
thrive to show,
Break the thorny seeds to dissipate more and grow
.
Through resilience, these giants survive the ravages
The seeds awakened, new
sprouts come from the ashes.
For a
naïve visitor, an awe inspiring sight to behold,
For lesser trees, all pale in both life span
and height,
An once
in a lifetime sight, form the marvel of nature,
We,
mortals, may never again glimpse in the future,
[Sequoia National park is in the state of California about
285 miles from San Francisco]
