CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG

Oft upon the couch I lay still ruminating in lazy thought,
Nucleus of the thought centered all round the hard way,
What cataract to me in life and thoughts indeed taught,
All these years why did the stubborn bag  keep me at bay.

Senile, assaults, sugars, drugs or a rare virus in utero might,
Make clear lens fibers swell in slow, hazy or worse plight,
Riders on view, all riders to oculists seen in a foggy light,
Immature at first sight, in slow indeed, totally out of sight.

Maturing for wrong reasons to lose even twilight of sight,
All that remains is the perception and projection of light,
Reminding the days of couching in ancient barbaric might,
And the present day of surgical finesse in perfect delight.

Days of erysiphake nightmare, then all intracapsular boost,
Spilling in between  extracapsulars also swung into action,
Uninterrupted in reign and regime long ruling the roost,
Cataract surgery  transformed in a swift silent revolution.

The dying few decades of  last century saw the golden era
Advent of intraocular lenses walloped in awe one and all,
Posteriors, anteriors, choice designs and what a plethora!
Visually changed the cataract of ocular surgeons overall.

Hard silicones,or foldables or the new multifocals lenses
Sutures held or withheld, heralding the shortened incision,
Small to micro or minute or the recent painless, prickless.
Dramatic visual resolution,oh!what a bloodless revolution,

Horizon becoming wider,no incisions, meaner for the brag,
Trenching ,dividing and conquering the lens all in the bag.
What war the future beholds  the lens, my dream can’t wag
Yet CAT can’t be dissolved,it has to be taken out of the bag.

A NOVEL ACT FOR A NOBLE FACT

Organ Transplantation Explained - Vietnam Social Health Revolution

Once there lived a millionaire who did have a weird habit,
Oft he did things overtly and covertly for a noble scene
Aiming messages to be  conceived faster than talk a bit
One such message was an ad for the costliest limousine.

A week later another ad, intentions once again did flower
Inviting all to witness, an event of a virgin in wait, a burial ,
The second one created a flutter, news for the gossip lover,
Town waited for the burial, suspecting the coroners’ trial.

Millionaire put his efforts in real earnest digging the grave,
Murmurs everywhere, despising this unwise act of a fool,
Expressing  their ire, all in satire, and tarnishing his stature,
Keeping the critics at bay, unduly  resilient and  icy cool,

The day arrived, and a huge turnout of the public in sight,
Men from all walks of life poured in, on the stage and hall,
Queries asked, all mortified his act, yet he was unmoved,
It was the time of reply, he shook the audience in enthrall,

Yes, I justify your thoughts, my act was a weird one, I admit,
It’s a colossal  waste of money, that is buried, helping none,
Parts of the car are unused, reusable for ailing cars in need,
So  are we, after our death, many can live if we think all alike,

Many die  in accidents, or after  a brief illness, in middle age
Yet for some  reasons we do  bury them or keep it  in pyres,
Unto ashes or soil, helping none, forgetting someone in need,
Let our organs live  after our  death, message ended in cheers.
A  STICK IN TIME MAY  SAVE A LIFE

Love has no definitions nor has any boundaries, truly so,
From where do these hormones flow in endless streams
Exhibiting in various modes, awesome  from the word go,
Maternal love tops the list , reverberating oft its beams .

This mother, seventy plus, sincere and true to the word,
Has a son, fatherless, full four decades since his demise ,
The boy of ten, all was her sole treasure and pleasure,
Gave him all  that her measly pension would appease.

Dutiful till he got engaged in love, now left her in cold,
His visits now far and few, sans love over a benign face
She was left uncared and grief -struck, lonely, yet bold,
Love is blind so it was, she was craving for senile peace.

Mounting pressure from within and out, he was estranged,
The worst  decision he took, taking her for an outing in forest,
The mother sensed the inevitable, yet silent and bold instead.
She had her bag filled with small sticks of wood ,nothing else.

As they trekked the  forest, she dropped the sticks one by one,
Son was watching the act, didn’t grumble till the destined site.
Was leaving her to the feast for the wild, when she set her tone.
Knowing his intentions, advised him to track the path of sticks.

‘’Thy return is  vital’’ my son, not mine, came  her bold advice,
Maternal love at its zenith, her son was dumbfounded in awe.
Sin taking its toll, was  in irresistible in tears and in  precipice.
She blessed him and left, but he plead for a pardon and won.

THE GIFT FROM A NEW BORN

How to Take Immediate Care Of Your Newborn Baby after Birth

World is so huge, that none can learn everything under the sun
From the media and surfing and from everything you hear too
Knowledge is so huge that never be tired of learning, its all fun,
All good things have a small beginning, indeed a new born too.

Observe a newborn’s facial movements, in sleep and in play,
For sure, will be amazed, the beauty and thrill, hearts do fill,
Wrinkles and curves, our adrenals in ecstasy and overplay,
Never tires in watch, the smiles, the cooing, screams in full.

World is narrow, when the watch is on, we forget the surround.
Clocks tend to run faster, child’s expressions too by the minute,
Twirls of the body, the clutters of the limbs and brows around,
Fascinating spectacle, for the bemused spectator every minute.

May this charm outweigh the struggles it suffers within the self
The colostrum, the sucking reflex, the feeds, the sleep and all,
Learning may be guided by a divine power, not tutored by pelf,
Cocci, bacilli all queue up in wait, besides the protection overall

Outliving all such missiles of onslaughts, sauntered its progress,
Twelve months of real hardship, combating all these monsters
Sports an innocent smile, worth watching even under duress,
Longing togetherness for hours, the real charm for posters.

Toddlers, a different breed, excitement all around for the eyes,
Cry, the trump card language and the noisy message alarm,
The sighs, the brows and the facial muscles show their ways,
Mesmerizing the bemused parents, oldies rejoicing the charm.

The childhood irresistible in amusement, throws the message,
Playing with them, the best antidote for many an ailment,
Assuages many a troubled moment, Oh! remember the adage,
“The child is the father of man”, indeed an apt statement.

PRIDE GOES BEFORE A FALL..

The Dividing Line Between Self-Esteem And Pride — Steemit

This is an old saying , we dismiss oft with scant attentions.
Our births too, might have  occurred with some intentions,
May be the wombs differ, we two, were riding in top gear,
Unchallenged and unopposed, a dictatorial reign sans fear.

The supreme rulers we were, reigning  true for six decades
Everywhere  our presence caught attention and accolades
Every people we met, treated us with respect  and regards,
Cared us, craving  for us to stay more, never with facades.

We did enjoy a jocund company mostly with our fellows
Never saw daylight, for days or months, sans road shows
Stay did differ, mostly of our ilk oft  in silence or in rumble,
Yet enjoying the sovereign status when  we did ensemble,

My father had such a kingly status, had a premature death,
My grandpa too died young, tyranny took away their mirth,
November did us in ,we now lost our nobility and mobility,
We, the Thousand and five hundred facing  the exit destiny

We had the best of our days here, indeed were too proud,
Every rise indeed has a fall, earthly truth, we never bowed,
As you go up the ladder ,a slight  slip makes a fatal impact,
We are now in doldrums, dins and dumped in rivers in fact

Lessons oft learnt late, the hundred rupee wears a wry grin,
The hunter, now the hunted, our faces humiliated with sin
Every moment my mind warns, humility is thy watchword
Indeed thy best day is  yet to come, friend, hear my word
